Privacy Policy

MyStarDebut Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected through mystardebut.com. We are a small, UK-based studio and we keep the data we collect deliberately minimal — enough to check availability, contact you about your booking, and produce your film, and nothing beyond that.

When you use the availability-check or contact forms on this site, we collect:

• Your full name, email address, and phone number.
• Your chosen occasion, runtime package, and event date.
• The celebrant reference photo you attach.
• Anything you write in a free-text message field.

We do not currently run analytics, advertising pixels, or any cookie-based tracking on this website — see Cookies & Tracking below.

We process this data to take the steps you request before entering a contract with us — checking studio availability for your date and responding to your enquiry — and, once you book, to perform that contract (producing and delivering your film). Where we retain booking details briefly after an enquiry that doesn't convert, we rely on our legitimate interest in following up on genuine enquiries, which you can object to at any time.

Submitting a form sends it directly to the studio's private inbox by email — there's no chat app or messaging platform involved. A member of the team reviews it and replies to the email address you gave us. If you proceed to book, your name, contact details and reference photo are passed to the small production team assigned to your project, governed by the handling standards set out in our Private Screening Charter. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

We share data with a small number of parties strictly needed to run the studio: our form-hosting provider (Netlify), which delivers your submission to us by email, and our encrypted cloud storage provider for holding project files during production. We do not use ad networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers. None of these parties may use your data for their own purposes.

This website does not currently set analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Should that change in future — for example, to add anonymised traffic analytics — we will update this section and request consent where required before any non-essential cookie is set.

Enquiry details from the availability form that don't proceed to a booking are kept for a maximum of 90 days, then deleted. For confirmed bookings, contact details and reference material follow the retention schedule in our Private Screening Charter — source material and working files are deleted 12 months after final delivery unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Our cloud storage and messaging providers may process data on servers outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, it's covered by those providers' own standard contractual safeguards for international transfers. We do not separately export your data overseas ourselves.

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us at any time to:

• See a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
• Delete your data, subject to any legal or contractual reason we may need to keep it briefly (e.g. an active booking).
• Restrict or object to how we use it.
• Receive your data in a portable format.

This site and our services are directed at adults booking a celebration film — we do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Reference photos of minors may appear within a family celebration photo submitted by a parent or guardian, which is covered by that adult's consent as described in our Legal & Rights page.

We'll update the "Last Updated" date above whenever this policy changes. Material changes to how we handle your data will be communicated directly to anyone with an active enquiry or booking, not left to a page update alone.
